The Tampere Flamenco Festival, first held in 1996, is the oldest of its kind in the Nordic countries. Every summer, the event attracts the most prominent Spanish and Finnish flamenco artists to Tampere: flamenco musicians, flamenco dance professionals and enthusiasts alike. The programme consists of world-class performances, high-level flamenco courses and free events. The festival provides also amateurs with an opportunity to perform. Children have their own flamenco fiesta as well.
